Private, respectful connection
Safety, boundaries, and control
CaveSignal is an everyday character, reflection, and communication tool. You decide every character state, what to save, who enters your circle, and whether a particular update is shared.
A clear character boundary
Your character is not an assessment of you.
CaveSignal characters express states selected by users. CaveSignal does not diagnose, assess, infer, or predict a person's emotional or mental-health condition from a character or its history.
Share deliberately
A connection does not open your history.
Character entries and private notes stay private unless you select an accepted connection and confirm a specific update. Connecting does not reveal earlier or future history, and CaveSignal does not create a searchable feeling feed or public personal profile. An optional fictional character page is separate, off by default, and contains only presentation details you deliberately publish.
Public character pages
A creative presentation, not a verified statement.
A public CaveSignal character and any displayed vibe are chosen by its owner. They should not be interpreted as a medical assessment or a verified statement about the person's mental-health condition. CaveSignal does not diagnose, infer, or monitor users through public character pages. Anyone with a public link may copy what appears there, so keep identifying and sensitive information out of public fields.
Keep your circle comfortable
Mute, remove, or block when you need space.
You can mute notifications from one person while keeping the connection, remove a connection, revoke an unused invitation, or block someone. Blocking removes access to existing shares and prevents that pair from reconnecting unless you choose to unblock them.
Respond without pressure
Acknowledge; do not diagnose.
A short response such as “I'm here” can be enough. Ask what would help, respect requests for space, and avoid treating a feeling as a diagnosis or a demand for an immediate reply. Cave Notes are private messages, not public likes or popularity scores.
Know the product boundary
Character updates are not monitored in real time.
CaveSignal does not diagnose risk, provide therapy, contact emergency services, or notify another person unless you deliberately share. Email and in-app messages can also be delayed or unseen. Use a live, local service whenever timing or immediate safety matters.
AI character conversations
A generated character is not a person or a safety service.
If AI conversations are enabled, replies are generated and may be wrong or miss important context. They are not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, or emergency help. CaveSignal does not monitor these conversations in real time and cannot promise a human response. Avoid sharing another person's sensitive details. If you may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or someone you trust. You can review the AI data flow and withdraw optional consent from the Talk page.
Urgent help
If someone may be in immediate danger
Contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, the 988 Lifeline offers call, text, and chat support. In Canada, call or text 9-8-8. You do not have to handle another person's safety alone.
